Glass Digital’s Head of Affiliate Marketing to judge Global Performance Marketing Awards

This October, the 6th Global Performance Marketing Awards will take place in London — and our Head of Affiliate Marketing, Virginia Rizzi, has been asked by the organisers to utilise her considerable marketing expertise by joining the judging panel and helping to select the winners.

The awards are held by PerformanceIN, a global events and publishing business serving the performance marketing, influencer marketing, and partnership economy. PerformanceIN organise industry leading conferences as well as UK and International awards.

This year, the name of PerformanceIN’s annual International Performance Marketing Awards has been changed to the Global Performance Marketing Awards, in order to emphasise and recognise the widening reach and influence of performance marketing.

There are 30 categories in total, including campaign and strategy awards, regional awards, technology, team, and agency awards, and individual awards. These range from ‘Best Tech Publisher’ and ‘Most Creative Partnership’ to ‘Best Content Commerce’ and ‘Best Loyalty Partnership’. You can see the full list of categories on the Performance Marketing Awards website.

The awards are eligible to all advertisers, publishers, media owners, agencies, networks, start-ups, technology providers, and individuals from across the globe in the performance marketing ecosystem.

When putting together the judging panel, PerformanceIN aim to source the best industry experts from a diverse range of backgrounds to promote impartiality and inclusivity. Below, Virginia explains what the selection process has been like, her responsibilities as a judge, and what she’s looking forward to most when picking the winners at the Global Performance Marketing Awards.

Virginia Rizzi, Head of Affiliate Marketing at Glass Digital

I was contacted by the organisers and asked whether I would like to be a part of the judging panel, alongside some amazing performance marketing professionals. Of course, I accepted straight away — this is a great opportunity for me to be part of the PerformanceIN community and put my affiliate knowledge to use in a very different way to my day-to-day job.

Based on my experience and expertise, I was allocated the following categories:

  • Best Affiliate Network
  • Best Innovation
  • Best Affiliate & Partnership Strategy – LATAM
  • Best Loyalty Partnership
  • Best Affiliate & Partnership Strategy – US & CANADA

I was then given access to a portal where I could review all the entries for these categories.

It has been a very interesting journey so far. I was asked to read through all the entries and score them based on the entry criteria. I was genuinely stunned by the quality of the entries, and with the impressive work agencies, brands, tech providers, and partners have delivered in the past year. I particularly liked reading the comments put forward for the ‘Human Touch’ criteria, as it was good to see all the parties involved have excelled in innovation while maintaining a close eye on relationships and staff wellbeing.

It has been good to see the industry bouncing back post-pandemic and delivering amazing results and innovation, with traditional affiliate, creative strategy, and cross-channel collaborations.

The next stage will be a judging day at the end of the month, where I’ll have the chance to deliberate with my fellow judges. I am looking forward to working closely with other performance marketing professionals from very different backgrounds and GEOs, and to the interesting conversations the judging will initiate.

The award ceremony will take part on 17 October 2022 at De Vere, Grand Connaught Rooms, London.
